Debate on genetic engineering’s future in NZ

The Science Media Centre tells of a recent debate on genetic engineering hosted at Lincoln University.

The question addressed was: “Should Genetic Engineering play a part in New Zealand’s future?”

Jon Hickford, past president of the NZIAHS, was among those who took part in a discussion hosted by broadcaster Kim Hill. Other panellists were Tony Conner, AgResearch; Philip Gregan, New Zealand Winegrowers; Rob Cruickshank, Lincoln University; Christine Dann, Organics Aotearoa New Zealand and Richard Newcomb, Plant & Food Research.
